The new Open Air collection by Meridiani embodies a wonderful, dreamy imagery. Among the brand’s unprecedented outdoor proposals, there is a refined, bourgeois atmosphere that is at the same time relaxed and welcoming. A taste that evokes the style of “Dolce Vita” as depicted in Fellini’s famous film: the freedom, dynamism and pleasure of the era seem to be translated into a design that can be fully experienced outdoors. A hint of the 1960s can be seen in the rounded lines of the upholstered furniture and accessories: it is hard not to associate them with the iconic TRIUMPH TR3 that Marcello Mastroianni drove through the streets of Rome. Instead, Meridiani praises comfort and the sensations it can give.

The Vincent Open Air sofa is emblematic of this quest: its generous proportions invite relaxation and conviviality. The deep and voluminous base is contrasted by the light and gently sloping back, which is accentuated by the visible steel structure on the sides: a technical and aesthetic detail that frames the modular element. The addition of poufs, trapezoidal modules and chaise longues (with round or square seats) allows the creation of spacious and articulated compositions in which unforgettable scenes of everyday life can be created.

In keeping with this concept of soft lines, the complements are positioned to enrich the scene, not as mere extras, but as functional and decorative protagonists at the same time. This is how the Bongo Open Air coffee table family evolves with new materials and finishes. After being born in 2013 in an indoor context and then being used outdoors, the top of the new Bongo Open Air coffee tables is now made of vitrified lava stone: thanks to firing cycles at different temperatures in special ovens, the tops made of stone extracted from the slopes of Mount Etna are extremely resistant and high-performance for outdoor use.

This high-performance material is also used in the Fabien Open Air coffee table, a piece of furniture that recalls the sinuous character of the new collection, but with an airy effect. An expression of the harmonious collaboration between technology and nature, the table top has a strong sustainable vocation, combining lava stone with recycled materials (specifically, crushed glass from discarded TV and PC monitors): the result is a finish with a highly sensual character, accentuated by the colour palette in shades of red, yellow, grey or asparagus green.

The colour palette in particular represents another area of research by the company in the open air, dedicated to creating an increasing synergy with the natural environment. Meridiani presents new finishes for the Open Air collection: Micaceo, White, Putty and Brick, the four brand new colours for the metal structures and polypropylene cables. With Meridiani’s outdoor collection, life in the open air is always sweeter.
