Soft curves, like gentle hills or soft sandy dunes. The sinuous profiles of the Saint-Germain sofa refer to a naturalistic imagery, on which to let thoughts glide and in which to allow oneself to be cradled. The wrapping and round sign that the designer Jean-Marie Massaud has given to this padded system is its distinctive design feature and recurs in all the modules of the series. Placed next to each other, the elements create multiple compositions and changing configurations directly inspired by the organicity of nature. An engulfing feeling of well-being is the effect that is immediately perceptible: as if immersed in uncontaminated landscapes, one is pervaded by a relaxing, welcoming, regenerating atmosphere – to be lived within the domestic walls, within a living environment that combines beauty and comfort, in perfect Poliform style.

The protagonist of this scenario, Saint-Germain model is presented in linear models, L configurations or modular compositions. A common denominator is the backrest with curvilinear profiles that is all one with the armrest, slightly recessed compared to the seat: a design detail that underlines its ample depth and emphasizes the cushioning.

In the fixed sofa, Saint-Germain appears as a full volume, in which the design emerges in its most expressive form; the juxtaposition between multiple elements enhances the soft lines and the meeting between shapes, visually interesting even on the back, makes the sofa ideal also for the center of the room; the chaise longue element, which recalls the lines of the collection, can be used by or as a terminal element; in the Boomerang version, it is instead characterized by the particular curvature of the seat, highlighted by the stitch.

Completing the proposal are the Saint-Germain coffee table and the pouf, which reproduce in the rounded corners the aesthetics of the padded elements in which it is inserted. Complements that pay homage, in small dimensions, to the identity of the Saint-Germain system, continuing the research of Poliform and Jean-Marie Massaud in giving life to the concept of “elegant refined and timeless elegance”.
