Inside the 2021 collection of Meridiani we can observe the coexistence – balanced, yet complex – of various materials. Wood, cowhide, fabrics, but also metals and various types of marble. One value stands out with great clarity, however: the sartorial prowess that is in fact the essence form which every creation of the brand takes form, embodying the history of the company itself, from the origins to the present. A level of manufacturing and craftsmanship associated with a style in a constant process of refinement, generating furnishings with a familiar, timeless aura for the living area, with even greater force in the new proposals for the bedroom zone.

Along a pathway of research towards a new, fresh and contemporary vision of the company’s “sartorial essence,” Meridiani calls forms and materials into play in a captivating dialogue among the parts, perfectly represented by the Edoardo bed. The unprecedented protagonist of the nighttime zone, designed by the art director Andrea Parisio, is a compendium of sublime material allure, enclosed in a vivid embrace.

The natural force of solid wood, shaped to give rise to a light, airy structure, which lets itself be captured only by the fabric borders, ready to match the covering. It is precisely the headboard that forms a counterpart with its striking, well-defined volumes, which widen to wrap the sommier. The headboard becomes yet another expression of the brand’s fine tailoring: Andrea Parisio has designed three distinct versions, representing three different personalities of the bed.

The first more understated and minimal, with soft padding shaped by the profile and covered in fabric. The second is more “cozy” and lively: the soft volumes seem to be enclosed only by the flat volant that outlines the perimeter. Finally, the most elegant, theatrical version, whose tone is set by the complex workmanship of woven cowhide, to capture the gaze.

“Today people expect the home, and all the spaces in which we live, in general, to be welcoming, nurturing, protective – the designer explains. – This is why we have decided to utilize warm materials like wood, combined with the new collection of fabrics, interpreted in a range of soft colors that almost seem to embrace you every time you experience their presence.” All this is Edoardo.
