Much more than a design fair, Maison&Objet has a long-standing tradition of satellite initiatives that make it a key event in the Parisian cultural calendar. In addition to presenting the latest market news in terms of home accessories to an international audience, the fair organizes meetings, conferences and debates, and supports the creation of pavilions and restaurants that reflect the most recent trends in the sector.

It is in this context that .Wonder, an international digital/print platform – of the IFDM publishing system – dedicated to the world of the project was invited by Maison&Objet to create a bistro inside the Signature pavilion in Hall 7 to celebrate the fair’s 30th anniversary and interpret the main theme of this edition: Tech Eden, an ideal world where technology and nature coexist harmoniously. From these premises took shape Wonder Terrae – Little Beach Club, an operative bistro formulated as an art installation, a vividly evocative abstract space, that has been accomplished with the precious collaboration of two outstanding partners: the outdoor furniture brand Ethimo and the premium built-in appliance brand Signature Kitchen Suite.

The inspiration comes from a beach club, an island where everything – from the floor to the furnishings – takes on a single tone, giving rise to a monochromatic volume of about 200 square meters, which becomes an abstract space in which the furniture – outdoor tables and sofas, relaxation cabins, a fitness corner and wine storage columns – suggests outdoor living in a dimension that speaks of nature, the earth and a method of aesthetic subtraction that invigorates new trends in interior design for the world of hospitality and beyond.

The monochrome references the iconic visual impact of the covers of the .Wonder collection, which since its debut in 2016 has always featured one focal color from the color trends of the year, as analyzed by ColorWorksTM. “The appointment in Paris also previews the launch of the Summer 2024 edition of the .Wonder Collectible Books – says Paolo Bleve, publisher of IFDM – an edition totally focused on products and above all on design and décor companies, which in the Project segment stand out for their prowess in the personalization and sartorial development of spaces for hotels, residences, cultural spaces, yachts and marinas.”

Wonder Terrae is an area to experience open to all visitors, a place in which to enjoy a meal, hold a work meeting or simply take a break. On 18 January, from 16.30 to 18.00, at the end of the opening day of Maison&Objet, the bistro will be the setting for an exclusive cocktail party.
