A flagship store on two levels in a building dating back to the 1920s. The new home in New York of Kartell (152 Madison Avenue), recently opened, is in a zone that has become the epicenter of design culture in the city. In line with the brand’s philosophy, it is full of creativity, art, design and beauty.

“We decided to move away from our original facility on Greene Street, into a large space with more spacious windows located in NoMad (the abbreviation of Madison Square North, ed), a district renowned for its focus on design,” says Lorenza Luti, Director of Marketing & Retail for Kartell.

“This space will allow us to provide a more complete and engaging experience, conveying our new idea of lifestyle to private clients and to architects and professionals in our sector,” Luti continues. “The relationship between Kartell and New York began in 2000 with the opening of our first store in the USA. Today, the architecture of the new locations is better suited to display the full range of our products, permitting settings and layouts that truly improve the shopping experience.”

To celebrate the opening, on 26 October the space hosted a Design Talk on the creative process behind every project: the protagonists were Claudio Luti, president of Kartell, his daughter Lorenza Luti and the architects Ferruccio Laviani (who designed the store) and Piero Lissoni.

“The American market is strategic for Kartell. For some years now the brand has concentrated on reinforcement of its sales network, both offline and online. As part of this strategy – Lorenza Luti concludes – we have recently opened a large showroom in Miami, while at the same time improving our e-commerce platform.”
