“In Wally we often say that our yachts are 20 years ahead of the times,” says Stefano de Vivo, Managing Director of the shipyard. “In fact, the new wallypower58 incorporates all the technical, practical and constructive advances made and perfected since 2003, the year of the worldwide debut of the first wallypower118. We are confident that it will become a reference point for yachts in its category in the years to come,” de Vivo adds.

A perfect all-around that finds consensus among seagoing speed lovers and leisurely cruising enthusiasts, combining performance, comfort and style. The ultra-deep V-shaped hull permits fast, comfortable sailing in all weather conditions, while the Volvo IPS system, with a choice between the triple units IPS700 and IPS800, both on the D8 engine block, offers long-range speed of over 30 knots.

A joystick, dynamic positioning and Volvo assisted mooring software facilitate operation, ensuring a simple transition for yachtsmen with previous experience on a smaller vessel, with the same propulsion configuration.

From a design standpoint, wallypower58 is a compendium of exceptional new developments. The ‘magic porthole’ completely removes the lateral openings that ruin the aesthetic purity of the hull, and places a video camera with 4K resolution on each side. The result is that the two video cameras, connected to two screens mounted port and starboard with respect to the saloon, create external views even in the absence of portholes. The advantage? Extremely clean lines, lower maintenance, reduced risk of damaging the glass during an ‘English-style’ mooring, and above all maximum privacy at anchor or in the port.

The large aft sundeck also reflects the focus on improvement of onboard living. Besides offering multiple cot solutions for four adults, and options like the electric awning, the standard folding gunwales create areas for socializing of unusual size for yachts in this category: as large as 25 sqm for the outdoor space at the stern, and 12 sqm for the sheltered and climate controlled cockpit. The latter can accommodate 12-16 people thanks to a flexible layout the includes large seats, an extensible table, and a galley open to various configurations.

The modular concept is accentuated in the interiors, flooded with natural light that enters from above. The standard version calls for a full-beam saloon with day head – complete with separate shower – and an owner’s cabin with queen-size bed and private bath with shower. The ‘flexi-guest’ option provides comfortable lodgings for up to four adults.
