Kvadrat: US expansion

A new office and showroom in the States, as part of the commercial expansion plan for 2021 of Kvadrat

Ambitious long-range plans for Kvadrat, the Danish brand of fabrics helmed by CEO Anders Byriel, which for 2021 looks to North America as a market to reinforce, in which to operate in an independent way.

The first initiative this year is the opening of an initial office and showroom in the States, in Grand Rapids (Michigan), as a commercial hub of services and warehousing. This facility will be followed by the opening of two stores in Los Angeles and New York.
“Through Maharam, the Kvadrat collections have been available in the United States for 18 years, but now with the opening of three showrooms with a dedicated sales force we are enthused about building our own service and distribution structure in the States – says Anders Byriel. We will be able to offer our American clients our complete range of production, and our entire portfolio of services.”

The flagship store in Los Angeles – due to open in April 2021 – will be designed by the studio Ronan & Erwan Bouroullec, the duo that has already created several products for the brand, like Clouds, Ready Made Curtain, and various fabrics, as well as the set-up of the flagship stores in Stockholm and Copenhagen.

Scheduled for the summer, the opening of the space in New York, with interiors by the California-based designer Jonathan Olivares, will coincide with the launch of the Broken Twill collection, also by Olivares (who has already created the Twill Weave fabric for Kvadrat).
