Last year’s curators, Annalisa Rosso, Maria Cristina Didero and Nicolas
Bellavance-Lecompte have been confirmed, as well as the headquarters of via Cesare Correnti 14.
The goal is to confirm itself as a cultural reference point, combining the plurality of thought and heterogeneity that arises from all around the world.
An event in the sign of connections that proposes itself as a place of meeting and creation of connections, in fact, between different fields, investing in research, selection of the projects and their final realisation.

Also present at the conference was Cristina Tajani, Councillor for Employment Policies, Productive Activities, Fashion and Design, who spoke about the district: “The presentations and installations proposed by 5VIE contribute and have contributed to implementing the Administration’s action aimed at disseminating the liveliness and creativity of Design Week in the city.”

Many interesting proposals stand out, among which Carlo Massoud – il pesce e gli astanti, curated by Maria Cristina Didero who defines the exhibition as useful for “looking at religions with different eyes”. Roberto Sironi decided to face the burning issue of big data in a sophisticated exhibition realised by Annalisa Rosso that will take shape in the fascinating scenery of the Roman cellars and in the main courtyard of Siam in via Santa Marta.

Every year the district is dedicated to an important designer, the 2019 edition will have as protagonist the master Ugo La Pietra that will contribute to animating the show with the exhibition Territorial Design, Genius Loci resulting from a research on the “submerged culture”, that type of artistic craftsmanship capable of supporting and representing the work of art, capable of becoming a research laboratory for design and at the same time giving back tools to characterise architecture.

Space for recreation is also present, with the most entertaining initiative of the event being Design Pride, a court of “beautiful and educated people” led by Seletti and Esselunga and with the students of the IED of Milan as the protagonists who, thanks to the commitment of the company for large-scale distribution, will take part in a parade on board the iconic vans of the brand that they have specially customised.
