Consul General Stefano Lazzarotto opened the meeting by emphasizing the strong ties between the Swiss Consulate and initiatives promoting craftsmanship. Guiding visitors on this exciting journey will be artistic directors Luca Guadagnino, the renowned film director, and architect Nicolò Rosmarini.  Inspired by the theme “The Journey of Life,” conceived by Hanneli Rupert, Vice President of the Michelangelo Foundation, Guadagnino and Rosmarini have envisioned an immersive exhibition that unfolds through the monumental spaces of the Fondazione Cini. Hundreds of unique objects, crafted by talented artisans from around the world, will accompany the public on an exploration of the fundamental stages of human existence: from childhood to journeys, from love stories to dreams, each phase of life will be told through the mastery of craftsmanship.

Beyond the walls of the Fondazione Giorgio Cini, the Homo Faber in Città program will invite visitors to discover unusual itineraries that wind through the workshops of Venetian artisans. Particular attention will be paid to artisans who, although not born in Venice, have chosen the city as their home and workplace, demonstrating its timeless charm and ability to attract talents from around the world. There will also be a focus on responsible craftsmanship, promoting a responsible and environmentally friendly approach. Lastly, a special section entitled “Venetians Traditions & Young Generations” will present the profiles of young Venetian artisans who, with passion and dedication, carry on the ancient craft traditions of the lagoon city, ensuring the continuity of a priceless cultural heritage.
