A thin line that connects creative flair and generations, an ‘authorial’ thread to emphasize an important tradition, bringing it new energy.

The collaboration between Gianfranco Frattini and Torri Lana began in 1955, giving rise to essential, rigorous and colorful patterns for fabrics. Today the partnership has been renewed thanks to the contribution of Emanuela Frattini Magnusson, daughter of the master designer, who with a new palette of as many as 15 colors and checked geometry reinterprets the iconic creations of the past.

The touch of Emanuela Frattini Magnusson unfolds in experimentation on yarns of the highest quality in wool and cotton, woven on jacquard looms, and reminders of the tradition, like the small checks that suggest the 1950s, 1960s and 1970s, when textures were of primary importance in association with color.

These lively reinterpretations were on preview in the Torri Lana showroom during the FuoriSalone, in an exhibition titled “Filo d’Autore”: an exceptional catwalk where the inimitable products created by Gianfranco Frattini paraded as completely updated guises.

Among the protagonists of the exhibition, the Mod. 849 chair designed in 1956 for Cassina, the Dooor textile door – a perfect mixture of architecture and aesthetics – the 780 tables by Cassina, the Turner bookcase for Poltrona Frau, the Gong tables by Acerbis, the Boalum lamps by Artemide, and the objects envisioned for Argenteria Ricci and Progetti. A constant dialogue between material and design, granting each piece a fresh, timeless elegance.
