Milan: new design locations

Many brands chose the event in Milan that has just come to an end as the moment to open their showrooms, with innovative spaces in which to display their latest creations. Here are some of the most interesting locations still conserving the atmosphere of Design Week

Gervasoni

The Milano Design Week was – as always – a great opportunity for full immersion in the world of design, discovering the latest trends of the most important brands and talented designers. The event was also a chance to open up new showroom spaces, which remain on view after the week is over. Flagship stores in which all the brands present their finest and most iconic pieces.

For the 2022 iteration of the Salone, Milan came through with a big response, both in terms of participation and in terms of new showroom openings, continuing the positive trend of recent years, which had simply been interrupted by the pandemic. A sign that this is a period of great stimuli for the whole world of design and décor, also in Italy.

The new Gervasoni showroom (see opening photo), the brand’s second in town, boasts over 700 sqm of area, and has been formulated as a place where designers, architects, clients and friends can be assisted in every design phase and every design choice, condensing all the collections of the brand into a single context. The facility has large windows to bring in natural light, with a series of skylights and columns that set the pace, helping visitors to understand the true arrangement and potential of the furnishings.

In the heart of the city’s design district, the new Roche Bobois showroom has an area of 1,600 sqm on two levels. The space has been created by the brand with the precise aim of bringing out the concept, the collections and the know-how of the firm, organizing special zones for digital design tools. The showroom makes use of natural materials of both mineral and botanical origin (ceramics, wood and ‘green’ walls). With two large staircases, intriguing volumes, games of depth and two-story portions, to organize a pathway and to put the accent on the very refined architecture of the space.

Inside, you can see the 2022 collection, created by the architect Massimo Castagna, the designers Ugo Cacciatori and Isabella Genovese, with the collaboration of the famous design duo Yabu Pushelberg.

For the opening of the new showroom Slamp chose the design district of Via Durini. The new space features two large LED walls that set the tone of the experience on the ground floor, and remain in operation day and night, like an always open gateway. The Milan flagship presents not only lamps, but also the vision and values of Slamp.

The brand’s idea is to offer designers and visitors a gathering point in which to directly experience the company’s high-quality design, providing clients with a team of expert consultants. The Qeeboo showroom is a futuristic site that narrates the spirit of the brand, through macro or miniature objects, sharing the creations and all the latest developments with visitors. Inside the display space, it is possible to find the brand’s classics like the Ribbon Armchair designed by Nika Zupanc, the asymmetrical Primitive Sofa and the Primitive Bookshelf XS by Studio Nucleo and the Mabelle M lamp designed by Marcel Wanders Studio. These long-term favorites are joined by the latest productions: the Don’t F**k with the Mouse chair by Ron Arad and the new Paki colored table.
