Geberit: different spirits, one personality

The Swiss group completes an operation of consolidation under a single brand, across all of its vast offerings of products for the bathroom ‘inside and outside the walls,’ while presenting the new creations for 2021 with one strong point: Italy

Solid, with a production network covering 29 plants and 12,000 employees in 50 countries, listed on the Zurich stock exchange since 1999 and included in the SMI (Swiss Market Index) since 2012, the Geberit group generated sales of 3 billion euros in 2020, 90% in Europe.
These numbers are the result of a strategy that has never slowed down, in spite of the pandemic, but has continued along its lines of constant investment in product innovation, optimization of manufacturing processes, exceptional care for employees and their professional growth, also thanks to ongoing training and information.

The action of simplification of the brands in the group’s ceramics portfolio has also moved forward, including the vast offerings of projects ‘inside and outside the walls’ under a single shared trademark: Geberit. This operation has also been officially completed in Italy.

Our country represents a growing market, ranked third in overall importance and accounting for 7% of total sales. It is a key territory in the group’s production, thanks to two strategic sites that act as two essential businesses. The plant in Gaeta specializes in the production of ceramic sanitary ware, with 350 employees and 15 million euros invested over the last five years, while the facility at Villadose (RO) focuses on the production of highly innovative flush systems, with 170 employees and 30 million euros invested over the last five years.
These are also the locations of training activities, to supplement those carried out in Manno (Lugano), a site with 110 staffers and the headquarters of the Italian sales division.

With these premises, Geberit has presented new products for 2021, items that never concentrate on image as an end in itself, but rely on continuing innovation to improve the quality of life of users. Complete solutions for the contemporary bathroom, with an eye on optimization of spaces, hygiene, comfort, accessibility, design and ease of use. The high quality is the result of extensive technological know-how, to benefit not only consumers, but also installers and designers.

The new VariForm furnishings bring a sense of lightness to the bath environment, combining perfectly with countertop washstands. The Option Plus mirrors are even more comfortable thanks to indirect lighting in the upper part and direct lighting below. The company has also presented new finishes for the control plates Sigma21 and Sigma50. The Olona shower tray is available in 25 sizes, strictly in matte white, made with resin stone covered with high-quality, extremely strong gelcoat. Other developments include the expansion of the Sestra shower trays with 3 colors and 16 sizes, and of the historic Selnova collection of sanitary ware, with its typical rounded borders, now in the new compact version with a depth of just 40 cm, equipped with Rimfree® technology and a flush system with complete rinse using 4.5 liters of water, to prevent waste.
