Le Petite Epicerie makes its debut in Liege with a design idea that reinterprets the original architecture with a modern sensibility. The figurative repertoire clearly draws on the light, elegant atmospheres of Parisian bistros: exquisite retro styling, mint green walls, mirrors that multiply signature lamps and refined details.
The distinctive design of Kevin Bona from the studio Label5.9 opens to an engaging combination of styles, all linked in a fine balance between decorative mood and an intentionally informal atmosphere.
Bordered by a court at the front and a garden at the back, the venue features tables in veined marble, period furnishings and lighting by Vibia. The Palma LED suspension lamp by Spanish designer Antoni Arola dominates the airy dining room, combining light with vegetation. The green hue of the plants, echoed in the tones of the walls, slides alongside two half spheres of blown glass joined by an aluminium band. Thanks to the almost invisible system of wiring and suspension, the silhouette seems to float in the air. Several single versions of the same fixture have been placed on the wall, enhancing the freehand drawings that decorate the space.
The adjacent bar zone features the new horizontal Palma, a trio of organic spheres that pulls the gaze towards a counter covered with shiny black tiles, matching the ebony tone of the shelving.
