The map of the companies: operations and suspensions of activities in the period of the coronavirus

The new key term is Smart Working, but that cannot fully suffice. The world of design and above all of its distribution needs to be reassured regarding the operative status of production and commercial activities. IFDM has surveyed and mapped the brands: those that are completely operative, those that are not, and which departments are active or temporarily on hold

The following is a report on the Italian companies and their operations, subdivided by departments.

How are the companies of Made in Italy reacting to this delicate phase of global emergency?
The stakes involve operative necessities and, at the same time, the factors of health and safety. This is why the decisions taken cannot be limited to one approach. On the part of all the companies of Made in Italy, however, there is a united front to guarantee maximum efficiency – even in a phase of limited operative deployment – and to safeguard the wellbeing of staff, clients and partners, in keeping with the prevention regulations issued by the Italian government

Mapping of the Italian design industry reveals everyday activities still underway for most of the firms, in the areas of production, sales and marketing. For many, the latter areas become the drivers during this emergency situation, activities that are clearly facilitated by Smart Working methods activated by nearly all the brands, making use of digital technologies to erase physical distances, encouraging collaboration and interaction and permitting staff to work directly from home.
