The safety of the national real estate sector has become a main issue for the country, and in this regard, FederlegnoArredo has activated, for some time now, an intensive research plan with the major Italian universities to define a training and sharing program directed at both associates and to professional figures of the construction sector.
From this base the company developed a project of information and training on the use of wood in the anti-seismic system that will be presented for the first time at the University of Macerata on June 13 during the conference “Il legno, nuovo modello di sostenibilità e di economia circolare” (Wood, a new model of sustainability and circular economy).
With the involvement of the major professional associations, the aim of the initiative is to stimulate the growth of the construction industry in the areas of Central Italy by raising awareness on the advantages of wooden construction solutions in terms of safety and comfort.
In particular, a series of thematic meetings and conferences will be held within the zone of the earthquake starting in September, to inform all relevant actors, from public administration to individual technicians.
In addition, on Assolegno‘s web site will be available publications from the Technical Department and the major research centers and Universities, and local appointments will be organized with local and central government departments.
Finally, a process of support for individual citizens will be defined through the creation of a remote help desk for personalised advice to all those who wish to deepen the themes of engineering and wood technology.
“It is only through a shared path that we are able to raise the qualitative level of the construction sector,” says Emanuele Orsini, chairman of FederlegnoArredo. “Considering that each material is able to interact with others, we need to provide the right tools for the designer and the whole production chain, thus guaranteeing the ability to meet the safety requirements laid down in the current Construction Technical Rules.”
