The creations of Sahrai Milano are a true homage to Persian culture and tradition Persian: rugs like works of art, rich in charm and craftsmanship, since they are still made by hand, but at the same time projected towards the future through ongoing research into materials, production methods and styles. This duality, made harmonious by the innovative vision of Rana and Ramine Sahrai, accompanies every product, including the new collections featured in Milan Design Week 2024, presented at the Salone del Mobile and the Fuorisalone – in the brand’s exhibition spaces in via Manzoni 38 and 45. In the rich parterre that makes up the world of Sahrai of this year, there is a theme that runs through these elegant creations: Nature is a recurring motif in the new catalogue, as a symbol of freedom, sensitivity, lightness and finds multiple expressions and forms in the patterns of the rugs.

Starting with the Noor and Underwaterlife Collections that have made natural motifs their distinctive hallmark; the two lines are enriched by the Bloom model, hand-knotted in natural silk and natural silk in relief featuring lilies, enchanting flowers that bloom at the beginning of spring, by the Pretty Shell and Wild Oyster rugs that represent the form of extraordinary beauty from the sea; up to Bonsai, knotted in viscose and viscose loop and viscose in relief, that illustrate the Japanese art of gardening. From delicate pastel colours to refined textures and unique floral designs, each new rug personifies the splendour of Mother Nature.

An atmosphere that continues in the new proposals for the nautical world, a true celebration of the marine and maritime world transferred into decoration. The Riviera Collection is in fact born to recreate the sense of bliss and relaxation of being in the middle of the sea, and thus the different shades of blue and natural colours create the ideal palette for this latest product form Sahrai.

In the same way a total and authentic connection with Nature is recreated thanks to the Outdoor Collection, a blend of innovation and sustainability to the benefit of the environment. The Outdoor polypropylene rugs are, not surprisingly, ecological, hardwearing and recyclable. In keeping with its commitment to greater ethical responsibility, the brand is moving towards the use of innovative fibres such as PET, Jute and polished Cotton. These choices, that can also be seen in the world of interiors, enable the exceptional softness and durability that characterise Sahrai rugs to be maintained, making the production process more responsible and with a lower impact on the ecosystem.

In the interiors, this sustainable vocation and special research into materials can be seen in the rugs from the 6th gen Collection, launched last year by the sixth generation of Sahrai: the new Vesper rug, hand-tufted in natural bamboo silk and jute loop, and Martini, handmade in linen and jute in assorted contemporary colours and materials. The presentation of these latest innovations emphasises their DNA thanks to a frame of elements that echo their sustainable qualities, such as tencel and biodegradable polyester.
