At the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas, three intense days on the theme of hospitality. From 30 April to 2 May 2024, HD Expo + Conference is back as an attraction for contract operators, in an event packed with discussions, updates, trends, training and previews. The roster already includes over 700 producers covering more than 25 categories, with 30 sessions of conferences featuring over 150 personalities, including leaders and rising starts, ready to share new ideas.Â
A dynamic business-to-business platform of incredible proportions constructed by Emerald – the owner of HD Expo + Conference – together with a long list of partners and sponsors, for a real face-to-face between interior designers, architects, hotel operators, owners, developers and buyers. The highlights include (for its second year) the Women in Design Awards Breakfast, on 30 April. This event, in collaboration with NEWH, puts the accent on women who stand out for innovation, leadership and success in the hospitality sector.
This year’s awards go to Sarah Bonsall, Gulla Jónsdóttir, My Nguyen, Staci Patton and Meridith Zimmerman. The program also includes a series of study grants and the announcement of this year’s ICON of Industry. A new development is the move to Las Vegas, during the days of HD Expo + Conference, of the ceremony for the HD Awards. In their 20th year, the awards go to the best and most innovative results obtained in the field of product design and projects from all over the world.
The magazine Hospitality Design will present, on 30 April at the Four Seasons Hotel, the winners selected by a jury from over 1300 submissions and about 150 finalists. Winners include Nicole Hollis and Standard International, respectively assigned prizes in the categories Designer and Hotel Company of the Year 2024. At the helm of her own company based in San Francisco since 2002, Hollis is the visionary behind important hospitality projects like 1 Hotel Hanalei Bay and Kona Village, at the Rosewood Resort. Standard International, led by the CEO Amber Asher, has evolved over the last 13 years from a provocative American brand to a global powerhouse. The program of HD Expo + Conference also includes many sessions of conferences, on topics ranging from the major challenges to be addressed to new concepts for spaces of wellbeing, and the analysis of the forecast of Interiors Big Ideas 2025 by Worth Global Style Network (WGSN).
