The superyacht M/Y UV II, a 45-meter grand touring model, is one of the latest to emerge from the ISA Yachts shipyard of the Palumbo Superyachts group, which has overseen its marine engineering. The external lines are by Enrico Gobbi – Team for Design, the interiors by Luca Dini Design & Architecture, and an audio/video system of the highest quality has been created by Videoworks to meet the requirements of a yachtsman who wanted performance at a professional level, made to measure for all the spaces of the boat. Internal, external and even ‘underwater’ setups, thanks to 20 lights below water level that emit a violet glow at night, chosen to underline the fact that UV stands for Ultra Violet.
The audio/video system, with K-Array speakers mounted throughout the yacht, can produce maximum power of 20,000 watts, and permits the insertion of a Party Mode, an upgrade with input for a DJ console, equipped with an auxiliary output for additional amplified speakers that can further augment the sonic impact.
The Party function also makes it possible to select a source and reproduce it in all the spaces of the yacht, inside and outside, with customized settings for music and volume. Controlled using an iPhone or iPad, the system runs on audio processors with Dante technology by Symetrix for the stereophonic zones, and Extron products in the main saloon and the owner’s lounge, where the arrangement adds surround sound. Enjoyment of HDMI 4K videos and IP 1Gbps viewing is provided by ZeeVee devices.
The most exclusive and special feature of the entire installation created by Videoworks is located in the passage between the owner’s suite and the main saloon. When the doors are closed the large connecting corridor becomes a totally private and sonic space where the yachtsman, day and night, can be immersed in his favorite music without disturbing the guests on board. A true independent multimedia space equipped with a 5.1 surround system at the highest level, with five speakers and one subwoofer, as well as a large video screen.
Finally, thanks to 5G Peplink dual modems and a Starlink antenna, the Internet connection allows the yachtsman and guests to chat or to watch films in streaming in the middle of the ocean, as if they were at home, or to take part in video conferences, as if they were in the office. At the same time, the ItwModeX app developed by Videoworks makes it possible to change the colors of the underwater lights.
