Walking along the streets of SoHo during NYCxDesign, you can enjoy the charm of boutiques, eclectic showrooms and historical townhouses, catching a glimpse of what this neighborhood was when it contained the homes and studios of artists. On 13 and 14 May 2022, the district invites the design community to celebrate with the brands of the SoHo Design District, attending exhibitions, parties, events and conferences.

The world of the kitchen is on stage at Poggenpohl with innovative products like +MODO, an island with a top in Rosso Lepanto marble, while small tables in natural stone define Omphalos, designed by John Pawson and presented by Salvatori. As the first industry professional of SoHo Design District, Y8 Studio – with offices in New York and Los Angeles – concentrates on the conservation of historical buildings, as well as design and reconstruction of critical areas or places damaged by fires. Finally, on 14 May Lasvit invites the design community to the launch of the new magazine Spacial, a digital and print publication for sharing of experiences with the public, in an idea of reciprocal inspiration. The theme of the first issue is Privacy, narrated by Yabu Pushelberg, Campana Brothers, Daniel Libeskind, Vladimír Kopecký and Maxim Velčovský.

Two encounter-events have also been produced in collaboration with IDSA: Design Elements by a Design Icon (13 May, 16.30-18.30) with the designer Tucker Viemeister as special guest, who will accompany a limited group through the streets of SoHo to the showrooms of Artemide, Lasvit, Original BTC, Tom Dixon and Poggenpohl, focusing on the iconic products of each brand; and Designing for Wellbeing, a conference organized at the TechnoGym showroom, with the participation of Karim Rashid and James Krause (14 May, h. 17-18.30).
