Four leading Italian designers have been summoned to work on a totally new project. It’s Kartell Eyewear, a line developed in 100 pieces and organized around two centers: that of the Main Collection, presented to sector professionals a few weeks ago, and the Design Collection, unveiled today.
The designers are Rodolfo Dordoni (Loo-K), Ferruccio Laviani (Segmenti), Piero Lissoni (Eyeliner) and Fabio Novembre (with two separate projects: Shield and Line K). They have all worked on the design of eyeglasses, each with their own personal approach. The results are 32 creations, joining the 68 of the Main Collection, developed in five models for sunglasses and eyeglasses: Lamina, Exube, Borderino, Spiedo.

Materials have played an important role, including some from a new generation, such as KartellBio, a sustainable acetate derived from cotton and wood. The central concepts are transparency and color, both connected to the company’s original DNA.

“Kartell Eyewear is the first collection of its kind produced by Kartell, a new project that is the result of our ability to interpret creativity in various forms of design,” says Lorenza Luti, Marketing and Retail Director of Kartell. “It is another step forward for our creative division, which allows us to discover new horizons, but always in tune with our spirit and our identity. Kartell Eyewear is a pathway in an unexplored direction that completes the identity of the brand, and will be expanded over time with new elements.”
