Egeo, Ionio, Mediterraneo, Tirreno: these are the names of the four coverings in the Fluctus mini-collection of the Vicenza-based company Margraf. The inspiration comes from a fascination with the sea. Or simply with water, evoked in the decorative motifs modeled on ripples and waves, in pure abstract geometric guise.

3D workmanship creates textures in which the marble is only partially polished, and hollowed to generate the decoration: these variations of surface treatment are enhanced by light. The precious material takes on an unconventional minimalist form, bringing to mind the protagonists of Italian art in the 1960s, such as Castellani, Bonalumi, Simeti.

The project of stylistic and technological research brings out the finest properties of the types of marble utilized. Each pattern is offered in standard modules (80 x 80 cm, thickness 2 cm). The stones selected for the collection are Grigio Carnico, Crema Nuova and Fior di Pesco Carnico®, the marble for which the company owns the only quarry in the world.
