An idea that required almost 40 years of study and mathematical research, involving countless prototypes produced by the engineer Raimond Puts, who had always been intrigued by the form of the geodesic dome and the mystery of prime numbers. In 2009 the first Raimond lamp was produced, formed by a dome-shaped steel network lit by small LED sources. Today, 12 years later, Moooi has decided to produce Raimond II, to bring the impression of a starry sky into the home.

In the second version, the lamp features a dimming system, and can be operated with Philips Hue, Apple HomeKit, Google Home or Amazon Alexa. There is also a handy Wireless Wall Switch, to obtain the right lighting at any moment with a single touch: intense light for working, soft light for the evening. The Wireless Wall Switch is composed of two components, a wall switch and a radio device to insert in the Moooi lighting system. The two parts communicate via Bluetooth.
