Designed over a century ago by Guglielmo Ulrich, then forgotten by design history, rediscovered and updated by Ceccotti Collezioni, Gentleman is the epitome of the “luxury wardrobe,” a unique creation for collectors of absolute beauty, in total harmony with the style and character of the company from Cascina.
This example of manufacturing excellence, entering the world of Poltrona Frau, in the prospect of a long-term collaboration already underway for some time, demonstrates how the language of design is always open to alliances, which become true marriages over time, where the mixing of styles and forms can lead to the completion of a magic circle.
“The relationship between Poltrona Frau and Ceccotti Collezioni is fundamentally an ongoing exchange of accents,” says Nicola Coropulis, CEO of Poltrona Frau, commenting on the two windows displaying pieces by the Tuscan company on Via Borgospesso in Milan.
The Gentleman wardrobe is immediately striking for any refined lover of aesthetics and good taste, but the true love affair begins up close – still with an aura of reverence, that of a true gentleman – when you can truly see and touch the piece: rosewood, maple, ebony, polished brass and parchment are the ensemble of materials that go into this cabinet with a height of nearly two meters, and a similar width (when open it reaches almost four meters), by a depth of 60 cm. The internal spaces have been designed to match the status of the wardrobe’s owner: a proper quantity of drawers, accessories for linens, neckwear and belts, shelves that form a setting for the garments.
When closed, Gentleman is pure style, a rosewood monolith with parchment doors and curved, irregular handles that embody the vision of Ceccotti.
To bring Gentleman to life in the displays created for the flagship store of Poltrona Frau, the choice has gone to Brioni and Lorenzi, two brands – respectively from the worlds of fashion and accessories – whose sartorial creations and fine detailing allow them to nonchalantly take up residence in the special wardrobe of Ceccotti Collezioni.
