A hybrid and transversal presence. This is the new exposition language with which Workplace 3.0, the exposition dedicated to the office, is presented at the Salone del Mobile.Milano. A proposal that changes the traditional route of the exposition (therefore no longer contained in halls 22-24), but distributed throughout the entire trade fair area.
A direct and reflected consequence of the social transformation of the work area, which has become a flexible, dynamic space, open to contamination and sharing. “Workplace3.0 will be confirmed, therefore – according to the mission of the Salone del Mobile – as a think tank to learn about and understand the future and necessary changes in the spaces shared with others, the starting point for the development of ideas capable of responding to new market needs.” But in this heterogeneous terrain, there is a way to trace various ‘fil rouge’ that lead to the discovery of macro-trends that are common to the constellation of ‘office’ proposals.
Starting from the concept of office as “Liquid Space”: a deconstructed place, without fixed workstations, where the flexibility of movable partition systems and furnishings dominate, allowing the space to adapt to changes in working methods; attention to privacy and concentration, which translates into sound insulation and focus work areas, up to the most original office capsule; technology, increasingly integrated with furnishing elements and the structural components of space, becomes a discreet presence, or in other words, soft-tech; finally, attention to the person and his or her well-being: from the best ratio between natural and artificial light, the best ventilation and acoustics, to sustainable and healthy materials. Office, home and public spaces: barriers between them are falling, the design adapts and promotes interaction between personnel and professionals.
