Alcantara and Nine journeys through time

The exhibition "Nove viaggi nel tempo" is on until the 13th May, promoted and produced by the Municipality of Milan, The Royal Palace and Alcantara, specially conceived for the rooms of the Prince's Apartment

Developed by Alcantara in collaboration with the Municipality of Milan, this year marks the third edition of the cycle of exhibitions curated by Davide Quadrio and Massimo Torrigiani, with Nove viaggi nel tempo Alcantara and art in the Prince’s Apartment presents a combination of talents from different countries, in the fine setting of the Prince’s Apartment at the Royal Palace.

Ten of the most interesting artists on the international scene: Aaajiao, Andrea Anastasio, Caterina Barbieri, Krijn de Koning, Li Shurui, Chiharu Shiota, Esther Stocker and Iris van Herpen (together), Zeitguised, Zimoun, who express themselves in nine projects with different languages: from transfigurations of painting to fashion, from digital design to music, guided by the specificity of a single medium: Alcantara®, a material which they analyse in an array of manifestations and potentialities, exploring invention and manufacturing processes by working with techniques and experts, autonomously or in collaboration.

A succession of fantastical scenarios, between ephemeral architectures and interactive audio devices, where each artist has created a site specific work by engaging in dialogue with the Apartment. An experiential path where each interior reveals a surprise which projects us onto different spatial-temporal dimensions. This year, time is reconfirmed as a major theme, the result of a conversation between artists, as well as between artists and materials, artists and places, artists and curators.
