Swarovski and Fredrikson Stallard: 10 years sculpted in an artistic piece

More than 8,000 topaz-colored crystals shine in the heart of the d3, reflecting and refracting the light, mimicking the iconography of the sun. The installation is called Prologue and is designed by Patrik Fredrikson and Ian Stallard for Swarovski. A scenographic and imaginative tribute to the ten-year collaboration between the London-based studio and the renowned company.

Created in 2014, Prologue is a large outdoor installation with sculptural value in its circular shape. The debut on the lively international scene of Dubai Design Week serves as a beacon of what Swarovski aspires to achieve in their future collaborations with the finest Middle Eastern talents across fashion, jewelry, architecture and design.

The Design Week offers the ideal occasion to launch the latest pieces of the Atelier Swarovski home decor collection in the prestigious Swarovski Creative Center, a hub of ideas and research recently opened at d3. A range of centerpieces, bowls and candlesticks inspired by the glaciers surrounding Swarovski’s headquarters in Austria. Functionality and decoration blend in an innovative design that lets out the crystal’s potential combined with other materials, bringing light into the living spaces.
