The NH Collection of Rome for the Italian edition of Hostys Connect brought together designers, procurement experts and managers of hotel chains to consider the offering of selected suppliers in the hotel and contract industry that have chosen to invest time and money in what is now an established formula – one-to-one in rotation.
The success of this formula was not a foregone conclusion while, on one hand, companies ask to meet professionals with concrete projects, on the other buyers decide to give up time for their own business for the prospect of making interesting contacts.
The contract world, a tempting business area for all, is especially crowded with similar events and so the capacity to make a quality selection is a fundamental tool to transform a series of events into a virtuous circle of professional networking: Hostys Connect, thanks to its knowledge of this market, the sensitivity and professionalism of Yumna Chabrol and Jenny Bachelot (the organisers), has succeeded in doing so, uniting and balancing supply and demand in a pleasurable, harmonious and sociable context. The foundations for the success of future are very solid.
Taking part in the Hostys event, among many companies, are well-known contract-oriented brands like Moroso, Roche Bobois, Dedar, Dorelan, Gandia Blasco, Wall&Decò and Rubinetterie Stella, all with at least two representatives.
The buyers included real experts in contracts and the hotel trade: at the forefront of these, in a coup for the organisation, was Patricia Holler, Senior Director Interior Design (and so also of Starwood) who is involved with more than 30 brands that make up the hotel colossus.
Around the meeting tables, designers were seen of the calibre of Jean-Philippe Nuel, Andy Martin, Rockwell, Jaques Garcia, Borella Art Design and Volume ABC, and Italians who have conquered international markets, Manuela Mannino (The Hickson Design), Marco Vismara (D73), Lenka Lodo (Goring & Straja), Massimo Mussapi and Alberto Apostoli
Room Mate, Carlson Rezidor and Elegancia are the most high-profile brands in the hotel chain sector.
IFDM, the event’s exclusive media partner and present with the Winter Fall edition of the Contract & Hospitality Book, spoke with many participants to the great satisfaction of the company who found buyers with many project develop (or already mentioned) along with interior designers and hotel managers who met companies ready to meet their requests in the contract world, increasingly more sophisticated in the demands and the level of expectations is rising every day.
Residential contracts were also much discussed, a sector seeing across-the-board exponential growth and which, as the architect Andrea Viganò of Studio D73 told us, “now requires knowledge of management and human resources, areas where the procurement experts are developing specific expertise, thereby increasing the range of the offer."
Hostys Connect 2016, where the topics were chosen by the participants, is a demonstration of how the world of contracts and above all hospitality is now seeing constant growth and not only in the numbers, but also in the type of requests. A real economic department that connects industry and services.
The next edition of Hostys Connect will be held in Berlin from November 26th to 28th, 2017.
