Muuto’s Danish design lands in Milan

The most grungy, underground side of Milan is hosting Design Republic, the furnishing store created by the last generation of the Mornata family, siblings Giulia and Marco, who opened a very Nordic, highly web-connected design shop in summer 2015, a short distance from the Colonne di San Lorenzo.
It is not just a store, but a meeting place tailored to the now influential Millennials, with an essential blend of live and online.

Nordic decor blends harmoniously with a series of products by renowned Made in Italy brands. Visitors can explore three levels where they can enjoy young environments that are also sophisticated and full of intriguing small decorative accessories by Danish firm Hay.
This is the perfect location for the 100 sq m dedicated to Muuto: the Copenhagen-based brand seems at home in Design Republic, harmoniously integrated with its mix of soft designs and good value for money. The company’s collaboration with Kvadrat allows it to diversify its collection of upholstered furniture.

Design Republic also offers a consulting services to those with contract-related needs and even when it comes to this very hot topic, Muuto’s soft approach fits with the mood of the store.
You can see and touch everything, you can also see and buy everything online on a bilingual website that allows you to quickly find and buy items.
Design Republic, in its (relatively) small scale, embodies the new wave of furnishing stores, presenting a business model dedicated to “fast design”, which has already drawn attention and achieved sales overseas.
