EquipHotel is once again proving itself to be a melting pot of ideas and concepts, blazing an innovative trail through the hotel and restaurant industry. This year, a Francis van de Walle project is sparking healthy discussion on the issue of disability in the hospitality sector.
Located in Pavilion 3, the 72sq m Senses Room focuses on two key concepts: disabled access in hotel rooms and the challenge of providing bespoke service for the families of disabled people during their stay, with a particular focus on those with children.
Francis van de Walle, a leading player in the luxury hotel sector, teamed up with designers Antonia Maggiar, Régis Botta and Laurent Monestié to create a suite based on the theme of the “five senses”. While the interior design was meticulously planned, equal billing was given to wellness, with light, colour, smell and music all coming together to create a space perfect for spiritual wellbeing. Physical wellness is also taken care of, with a mini fitness room, cleaning service and professional concierge all provided.
Zucchetti.Kos was selected to become a partner in the project, its practical and elegantly minimalistic design taking the Senses Room bathroom to the next level. The brand’s flagship collection is Him by Ludovica and Roberto Palomba, featuring a waterfall-style shower, a handheld showerhead, numerous accessories and two sink taps in a rose-gold finish.
«With over 1600 exhibitors from more than 30 countries, EquipHotel is a great opportunity for Zucchetti.Kos – declares a company spokesperson – We have long been aware of the importance of the hospitality sector, creating a special division able to work alongside architects and designers to satisfy a wide range of design requirements».
The brand has enjoyed impressive international exposure in recent times, with its products used in the JW Marriott Venice Resort&Spa, the ME Il Duca in Milan and the Beaumont Hotel in London.
In addition to Zucchetti.Kos, other Senses Room partners appearing at EquipHotel include Gébérit, RKF for linen and Dedar for wallpaper and fabric.
