The latest capsule collection from Fischbacher 1819, created in collaboration with Ramdane Touhami, has been conceived as a homage to Alpine landscapes. Inspired by three iconic peaks, Eiger, Jungfrau and Mönch,The Drei Berge Collection” is in fact an explicit declaration of the French-Moroccan designer’s passion for mountain life and landscapes. A passion that drove him in 2022 to take over and restore the Drei Berge Hotel in Mürren, an ancient Walker settlement on the edge of the glacial area of the Swiss Alps.

In keeping with Tauhami’s distinctive style, the design of the building conversion takes the direction of a refined synthesis between tradition and innovation, combining a reverence for history with cutting-edge design. With its roots in St Gallen and a rich and well-established history of textile excellence, Fischbacher 1819 have enthusiastically embraced the challenge of translating Touhami’s visionary idea, perfectly conveying the interior design concept in the form of fabric.

With a narrative ready to go beyond conventional boundaries, creative director Camilla D. Fischbacher, working together with the designer, has developed the capsule collection though a bold use of colours and textures. Each of the components in the collection – two curtain fabrics and a throw – showcases the versatility of wool, that links together the entire proposal.

A material that is favoured by traditional local crafts, here wool has been chosen for its great ability to adapt to the changing scenarios of each season. Knitted from 100% wool, Jungfrau is a curtain fabric whose texture reflects the softness of a heavyweight sweater and conjures up an exquisitely winter atmosphere. Suitable instead for cooler and more airy coverings, Eiger is a lightweight curtain fabric made from pure wool in plain colours.

Mönch is made from a blend of alpaca and pure wool, a soft and cosy throw with an irregular surface, perfect for any time of year. The collection is strongly characterised by its innovative colour palette that features bold shades combined with more reassuring neutral tones. With totally original solutions that convey the changing panoramas filled with energy of mountain landscapes, these fabrics bring an unexpected freshness and contemporary feel to spaces.

Designed to be layered with strong blocks of alternating colours, the collection stimulates a dynamic interaction between space and fabric transforming conventional interiors into landscapes that are full of emotion, becoming the unmistakable focal point of a space. “Every year, to coincide with Milan Design Week, our collaborative collections allow our brand to experiment, stimulating our creativity and encouraging technical innovation” says Camilla D. Fischbacher. “And working with Ramdane Touhami has made the entire creative process very inspiring”.

“My love for the mountains led me to the Swiss alps, to Mürren and the renovation of the Hotel Drei Berge”, explains Ramdane Touhami, “the way this place inspires me has led me to create this capsule collection with Fischbacher 1819. Creativity is a process that is always evolving and I am happy to be able to exercise it every day in new ways”. On show for the first time during Milan Design Week, “The Drei Berge Collection” will be the protagonist in the Fischbacher 1819 showroom in Milan and launched on the market next autumn.
