Maison&Objet: time to meet the future

‘Tech Eden’ is the theme of the next edition of the Paris event, which celebrates 30 years in 2024. Between technological research and the desire to return to nature, a macro-trend told through exhibitions and special initiatives

In 2024, Maison&Objet marks 30 years of French-inspired excellence and style research in the home décor, design and lifestyle industry. Marking this occasion, the show – from January 18 to 22 – will take visitors on a journey to a re-enchanted future, where technology and nature exist in harmony: the theme of this edition will be Tech Eden and will be explored at the Paris fair, with exhibitions and dedicated trend spaces, as well as in the city’s showrooms (the Maison&Objet In The City circuit).

An event with many special projects in the pipeline: a unique space dedicated to Mathieu Lehanneur, Designer of the Year for this edition; the Rising Talents Award, which highlights young creatives to be discovered; and a special collaboration with IFDM: a gallery-bistro in the form of an immersive installation open to visitors, where colour is the absolute protagonist.

Home: a soothing cocoon
The Tech Eden theme will be embodied throughout the fair (15 sectors, more than 2,000 exhibitors) in three areas of exploration: interior architecture, retail, and hospitality. At the show, Elizabeth Leriche’s What’s New? In Decor trend space will focus on a fresh approach to interior decoration inspired by the theme of the session and translated into patterns, textiles, installations and immersive décor. A home transformed by remote working and e-commerce, where the living room becomes an office and the bathroom is a living room dedicated to well-being.

The retail, seen through 3 trends
More than a simple presentation, the What’s New? In Retail space has evolved into a think-tank for the now omni-channel distribution sector, offering a selection of new products, a programme of workshops and conferences, a café, and a wealth of merchandising ideas. This is the context where François Delclaux, in collaboration with the global agency BETC Design, will present a space for sourcing, inspiration and exchange showcasing three major trends: sustainable minimalism, responsible brutalism (re-use and recycling of materials), and organic fluidity.

The hospitality sector as an escape pod
At the heart of the Hospitality Lab, Peclers Paris will offer three biophilic, immersive and future-focused escape pods in its Trends Forum: awakening, active and regenerative. Each of these will embody one of the facets of a hospitality sector that is constantly evolving and offering new approaches to the beneficial getaway experience: the cafe blends into a well-being space, luxury spas pop up in hotel rooms and offer multi-sensory experiences, and waiting locations such as airports or train stations mutate into sports halls thanks to the latest immersive technologies.
