There is marble, refined, ancient. There is traditional ceramic tile, an established presence in the bath environment. Then there is stoneware, practical and efficient, utilized for washstands, counters, cabinets. Not to mention the so-called “solid surfaces,” innovative and technologically advanced composites that have many virtues, including durability, strength and sustainability. What they all have in common is the pursuit of quality that goes beyond time, beyond fashions. Washbasins, sanitary fixtures, tubs and showers can thus be shaped in multiple forms that rely on material impact, an essential ingredient of their design.

Let’s start with marble, the protagonist of the Balnea collection (on cover) designed by Elisa Ossino for Salvatori. The various modules are very spacious and can be combined to give rise to a wide range of compositions to meet all needs: countertop, wall-mounted or freestanding washbasins, bathtubs, drawer units and showers. Thanks to the natural allure of the stone, all the modules can merge to create a safe, healthy space that is also practical and welcoming.
