Venini awarded as ambassador of Made in Italy

The historic glassworks received the Leonardo Qualità Italia 2023 award, which for thirty years has promoted and spread the image of excellence of Italy in the world

Conferred last Friday at Palazzo Montecitorio, in Rome, by Comitato Leonardo, the award of the same name went once again this year to the companies most representative of Made in Italy excellence that have distinguished themselves for quality product innovation combined with a strong international, commercial and production projection.

Born from an idea of Sergio Pininfarina and Gianni Agnelli, the ICE Agency (Italian Trade Agency), Confindustria and a group of entrepreneurs, the long-awaited Premio Leonardo Qualità Italia, established in 1993, was awarded this year to Venini for “its role as spokesman of Italian craftsmanship in the world in the sector of artistic glass production” and presented to Silvia Maria Grassi Damiani, Vice President of the Damiani Group and President of Venini, in the presence of Luisa Todini, President of the Committee, Matteo Zoppas, President of the ICE Agency, Barbara Beltrame Giacomello, Vice President of Confindustria, Adolfo Urso, Minister of Enterprise and Made in Italy, and Antonio Tajani, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.

“We are truly honored to receive Premio Qualità for Venini, which is in addition to the one received by Damiani in 2014. Venini, which recently celebrated its 100th anniversary milestone, is the custodian of a millenary tradition made of gestures, secrets and magic, a precious savoir-faire with a unique, unrepeatable and priceless craftsmanship value that has allowed us to export the excellence of Italian design abroad,” commented Silvia Damiani.

With Venini, San Lorenzo, Ariston and Triumph Group International were awarded. While the Premio Leonardo was awarded to Stefano Domenicali, President and CEO of Formula. The Premio Leonardo International went to Sir Rocco Forte, President of Rocco Forte Hotels; the Premio Leonardo Start Up was awarded to the engineering company Kineton; while the historic tie factory E. Marinella won the Premio Leonardo Impresa Storica.
