On 19 October Cassina officially opened its e-commerce platform, a channel that supplements and enriches the traditional sales channels, while offering consumers a new way to approach products.
Models available for online purchase include pieces that have made design history (the Zig Zag chair by Gerrit T. Rietveld, the Cab chair by Mario Bellini, the 1 Fauteuil dossier basculant by Le Corbusier, Pierre Jeanneret and Charlotte Perriand), as well as a wide selection of accessories and complements from the Cassina Details collection, including the new Post Scriptum vases and containers designed by the duo Formafantasma and produced by Ginori 1735.
For the launch, the new virtual showcase of Cassina offers the debut of the Modular Imagination project created by Virgil Abloh and presented in a world premiere in June during Milano Design Week 2022: monolithic black blocks that are actually soft, with which to create, adapt and revise space, making room for personal creativity. Immediately available online, the modules will not be seen in stores until November.
Also at the official Cassina website, a configurator enables customers to visualize finishes and coverings for every product in the collection: when the product and its configuration have been specified, a request for an estimate can be forwarded to the closest dealership. In this way, the channel becomes a handy tool, a direct interface with the buyer that supplements the normal sales network.
The launch of the Cassina e-commerce initiative extends for the moment to Italy, France, Germany, Austria and Benelux, with the goal of expanding the service to the rest of Europe in 2023, followed by the rest of the world. A customer service center is available for assistance, and there is also a specially developed logistics department. For the start of the service, product shipping will be free of charge.
