In a perspective of exploring the future without forgetting the true essence of things, Hotel Chimera takes form as a capsule collection created for CEDIT–Ceramiche d’Italia in collaboration with the designer and artist Elena Salmistraro.
A collection of 80 pieces, composed of elements with different origins and nature, with a focus on sustainability and inclusion. A unique ceramic creation, covering almost 20 square meters, the proceeds of which have made it possible to produce the project Double Meaning: Tactile Tours at the Peggy Guggenheim Collection.
The initiative began in 2015 with the aim of making the world of art accessible to people with visual disabilities. Thanks to the company’s contribution, from 22 October the project resumes its activities, including guided tours and workshops, with the addition of a tactile catalogue that brings together the works on display and their technical profiles, written in Braille and in highly legible characters.
Among the works included in the show: The Nostalgia of the Poet (1914) by Giorgio de Chirico, Upward (1929) by Wassily Kandinsky, The Voice of Space (1931) by René Magritte, and sculptures by Max Ernst and Alberto Giacometti, in a path that permits artistic analysis and full independence for visitors at the same time.
