It is hard to step gingerly into the overwhelming beauty of the nature around Villa Duna with its beaches, gardens, and landscape nestled between the hill and Côte d’Azur sea. Yet, Marianne Preveteau + Victor Perez succeeded in doing just that, with Benoit Sgarbi as project manager, with a contemporary design whose precision only underscores the wealth of the surrounding natural heritage.
The private home in Cannes conveys a sense of respect and powerful personality through a clean-lined design for its entire 600 square meters. Clean design was the uniting theme that led to the choice of the sophisticated surfaces from the Marmi Maximum collection by Fiandre Architectural Surfaces.
The home’s interiors are covered in stoneware in the innovative size 300x150cm Maximum Flanders Extralite®, 6 mm thick, which joins absolute freedom in use and lightness with high-performance strength and flexibility. In the bathrooms of the six bedrooms, the intense color of the polished Pietra Grey of the square washbasins combines with the variegated white of polished Calacatta Light on the floor. Slabs in an open ‘book-matched’ version are on the wall. The striking overall effect makes a harmonious contrast of light-dark and pure lines.
The indoor pool offers relaxation and self-care, with neon lights crossing the ceiling in a succession of changing beams and flowing small waterfalls that emerge from the slits engraved on the walls clad in Calacatta Light.
The elegant touch of marble is also on the doors, the kitchen and the stairs, whose steps are assembled with a 45° cut and laid with polished Pietra Grey, juxtaposed with a transparent glass handrail. Villa Duna also has a hammam, fitness area and gym, and an outdoor infinity pool with a thermal cover.
