The new codes for the redesign of professional and commercial spaces are the focus of one of the most eagerly awaited events in the United States. NeoCon opens its doors at theMART in Chicago, exploring the radical transformations in the world of the office and hospitality, with a careful look at one of the major global challenges: environmental sustainability.
With over 400 exhibitors, the 2022 edition puts the accent on experimentation, presenting immersive installations, site-specific events, new products and an unusual dialogue with art staged by the American artist Nick Cave.
“Our exhibitors, partners, and sponsors are all hard at work planning show-stopping designs, programming, installations, and activations that represent the best of what our community has to offer,” says Lisa Simonian, Vice-President of Marketing of NeoCon.
Events that are both physical and virtual, organized through 47 sessions – offering CEU credits and coordinated by an impressive list of experts, on 8 important themes: Workplace, Healthcare, Education, Facilities, Wellness, Sustainability, Design Skills, Industry Directions.
“From examining how to make spaces more accessible to implementing biophilic design practices and exploring how NFTs and the metaverse will shape the future of design – says Allison Kearns, Director of Programming for NeoCon – the eight tracks are intended to offer a much-needed opportunity to learn and conceptualize how we will continue to build a more sustainable, innovative, and effective future as a community.”
In a choral celebration of design, NeoCon is a partner of the magazine Interior Design with the HiP Awards, presented at Marshall’s Landing on 12 June, on the eve of the fair, while on 13 June – the day of the official opening – the winners will be announced for the 32nd iteration of Best of NeoCon.
