In its constant experimentation without barriers, JCP Universe offers new stimuli for reflections ranging from design to culture and beyond them to life itself. The brand of the Oniro Group anticipates Milano Design Week with an exhibition in its showroom in Milan on Via Hoepli, presenting “Alternate Lifeforms,” a group show of art and design curated by CTRLZAK.
New artifacts by Gionata Gatto, Damien Gernay, rlon and Martina Taranto are joined by an artwork by Stefano Caimi and a video installation by Thanos Zakopoulos (in collaboration with Kokoschka Revival Collective).
The objects shift beyond their creative forms to establish a relationship with the space, the observer and – first of all – their makers. A new ecosystem is thus generated, in which the artifacts are an active part. In other words, true life forms. The exhibition represents the idea that “living becomes an act of awareness between the space and the actors that inhabit it.”
This ideal, and much more, can be found in the exclusive publication JCPaedia, an atypical encyclopedia that offers an overview of the JCP universe, from the outset, illustrating key moments of its evolution into a multiform, multidisciplinary reality.
The natural continuation of the earlier Guide to the JCP Universe, JCPaedia is an immersive journey inside the company, through exhibitions, performances, works of art and alternative literature. The JCPaedia is edited by Thanos Zakopoulos of the studio CTRLZAK, with essays by Stefano Caggiano, Alistair Gentry and Alberto Zanchetta. Graphic design by SUSAMI creative.
