Street painting, art, sports, a rediscovered place for socializing. With the opening of MIND, the Milano Innovation District, the area set aside for EXPO 2015 comes back to life, offering a new way of thinking about urban space, also thanks to the artistic direction of the architecture firm of Migliore+Servetto, the contributions of LAND and Studio Andreco, and collaboration with the Milan Polytechnic.

The studio Migliore+Servetto has created MIND Flow, an installation with vivid environmental and narrative content, extending for 1.8 km and 15,000 sqm, a true connective tissue that links the various elements of the district.

With its chromatic and geometric arrangement in various tones of yellow, and 100 words grouped in 7 theme carpets, the installation accompanies visitors from the subway exit to the Tree of Life, while also providing a bicycle path and pedestrian walkway.

It is the thread that connects the project by LAND – the green areas with the original plants of EXPO 2015 and sports fields – to the interventions by Studio Andreco. The latter, thanks to the visual artist Andrea Conte, has generated ISLANDS and UNKNOWN, works of street painting inspired by science and environmental research, covering an area of over 1700 sqm.

The overall impact is enhanced by the exhibition The Human Campfire at the Auditorium of the HIVE building, 15 projects based on collaboration between Ico Migliore, co-founder of the studio Migliore+Servetto and professor at the Milan Polytechnic, and 50 of his students, on the theme of seating as a gathering point to construct opportunities for dialogue.
