Snapshots of everyday family life, in the new catalogue by Gallotti&Radice. Images of an enveloping domestic dimension that comes to life in the spaces of two apartments in Milan. The title “Homescapes. Intimate Portraits” provides an immediate key of interpretation. Intimate, loving, passionate portraits of rooms that are not just settings, but become a true expression of their inhabitants. In a process of personification of spaces, homes take on precise identity, allowing us to rediscover their most authentic essence.

Intimate Journey” and “Intimate Vibes” are the two plot lines, which inside two separate dwellings in Milan reveal the ability of Gallotti&Radice to interact with very different spirits, absorbing and reflecting them. The resulting expressive impact is triggered by precise elements in which the materials of the collection (marble, brass and glass) point to an aesthetic, while the finishes and fabrics convey tonal stylistic effects. Though the two approaches are different, they both share the clear idea of a lifestyle, in the forms and organization of every room.

Intimate Journey

It all begins with a more urbane, lively domestic space: a sequence of rooms in vivid colors, warmed by details in walnut and energized by contemporary coverings. In the living area, a composition of the Elissa Sectional sofa dominates the scene with its monochrome covering, joined by the Clemo coffee table in Ceppo di Gré, a natural stone that stands out for its gray-blue hues.

Another focal point is the Hide&Seek bookcase, with its glossy lacquer finish in Persian Red and London Gray. The focus on materials extends to the Eve bed, thanks to its boiserie headboard in Frisé-color walnut, with herringbone inlays, or the Manto Oval dining table with a top in Frisé-color walnut, inlaid with a black chamfered border.

In this context of dynamism and energy, the contaminations multiply and the forms of workmanship are reinterpreted. As in the case of the President desk in extra-light glass, offered in the distinctive decorative crisscross finish with a gauze fabric effect, obtained by means of diagonal and intersecting brushing.

Intimate Vibes

The home becomes more sophisticated, refined, almost ethereal. Light contributes to the definition of spaces and objects, all based on delicate tones, also thanks to the fabrics and finishes. The pale nuances of the Audrey sofa blend with the natural tones of the Prism Divider bookcase, with modular columns, in Frisé-color walnut. A vibrant touch is added to the scenario by the Livre chair, deployed with covering in Euphoria fabric, which stands out for its geometric style and the fil coupé weaving technique.

A completely opposite effect is provided by sculptural metals. As in the Monete coffee tables, where metal burnished by hand creates a fascinating variety of shadings. Or the Maat dining table, where the antique bronze finish adds depth and allure to the top.

Dark tones are also seen in the Shiro table, whose inlaid wooden top features the “Ebano Capri” finish: pigmented stripes in paler hues stand out against the dark background, with a fine texture of mostly straight grain, for a very compact but elegant presence.
