An important debut in the world of outdoor furnishings. Cassina chooses the showcase of imm cologne to make its first foray into the outdoor universe. It does so by presenting The Cassina Perspective Goes Outdoor and by combining the icons of the LC collection and the elegant style of Charlotte Perriand with three internationally acclaimed modern designers: Rodolfo Dordoni, Philippe Starck and Patricia Urquiola.
Philippe Starck celebrates the harmony and osmosis with nature through the Fenc-e Nature seating collection, featuring organic, almost primitive forms and materic touches, like the armrest in solid teak with a sanded finish to create a raw natural effect. The lines and volumes focus on comfort, with the possibility of reclining the back in two different positions: conversation or relaxation.
Rodolfo Dordoni takes his cue from the vacation spirit of the 1950s for the design of the Sail Out outdoor sofa. The modular design suggests the soft form of inflatable canvas pads, thanks to individual upholstered segments inserted in pockets bordered by the stitching of the covers. Sail Out offers a multitude of possible combinations with three modules for the seat, and three auxiliary parts.
Patricia Urquiola has created Trampoline, a relaxation island for large, welcoming spaces. The distinctive feature is the weave, made by hand in polypropylene cord, which becomes a decoration: available in melange or multicolor versions, woven around the base and the back.
Cassina has also reissued the historic Doron Hotel chair designed by Charlotte Perriand. The outdoor version is in teak and has soft, rounded lines. The project has been carried out with the collaboration of the designer’s daughter, Pernette Perriand Barsac.
Finally, the brand has decided to re-launch the Collezione LC with a new range of fabrics and finishes to enhance the living and dining settings offered for outdoor living, with the LC1 armchair with pivoting back, the LC3 sofa, the LC6 dining table, the LC7 swivel chair, the LC8 swivel stool and the LC10-P low tables.
