A special event for a special occasion. The inauguration ceremony took place yesterday, Wednesday 7 November, for the new Barovier&Toso Palazzo in Murano. The building, just steps away from the historical headquarters of the company founded in 1295, has undergone a complete internal renovation: a project designed by the Milanese studio Calvi Brambilla.

The two designers have created a modern interpretation of the most typical architectural elements present in antique noble palaces: “To make the new building we studied a space in which history and the contemporary can coexist, since they are also the two primary essences of Barovier&Toso,” reveals Paolo Brambilla. “We have succeeded in harmonising an essential and modern interior concept with the majesty of the glass of Murano, celebrating it in a context brimming with light and reflection,” adds Fabio Calvi.

A path that extends over three floors connected to one another through a golden staircase that expresses the philosophy of the brand through an exclusive layout, where every detail has been studied in order to celebrate the timeless luxury of the collections on display, thus creating fascinating atmospheres that elicit emotion.
The ground floor, dominated by tones of black, is dedicated to welcoming the customers and to shopping. Among the products present in this space some stand out in particular: Crown, Pigalle, Florian, Baikal, Marta, Ca’ Rezzonico 2D, Premiere Dame, Tangeri, Vasi rostrato, Bolloni, Lust, Amsterdam, Rotterdam, St. Germain, Rive Gauche, Twins and Camparino.

Five monochrome rooms (white, gold, blue, black and red) are the protagonists of the first floor and they house, among the other creations, Palladio, Rotterdam, Taif, Taymyr, Nevada, Twins.
A room on the second floor with a trussed ceiling is where one finds the modern and contemporary chandeliers, like Venezia 1295, Lampadario 4607 and Lampadario 4604.

Taif could not be missing, the monumental chandelier designed in 1980 for one of the residences belonging to the Saudi king who over the years has earned the title of iconic product by Barovier&Toso.

Rinaldo Invernizzi, President of the world’s most antique glassworks, talks about Palazzo Barovier&Toso: “It is a project which means very much to us, confirming our commitment toward a policy of constant growth and internationalisation. Having reached this great result, we celebrate our history, our specialised workers and our extraordinary glass masterpieces, a winning combination of innovation and tradition, art and design”.
The historic brand sought to pay homage to Venice and the Biennale by exhibiting works of art by Jason Martin, Brigitte Kowanz and Astrid Krogh.

Last but not least, the Palazzo even hosts a private café and a bar, where it is possible to experience first-hand the brand’s expertise in the contract and hospitality sector.
