Architect Mark R. Anderson takes top role at Istituto Marangoni

Internationality and the crossover of knowledge and knowhow are the two cornerstones of the research of Mark R. Anderson, the new Director of Education at Istituto Marangoni Milano since March.
“This new role at Istituto Marangoni is an important challenge that will allow me to utilise and transfer the extensive research I have carried out into different disciplines, architecture and design into an innovative educational setting”, explained Anderson. “Because research into innovative solutions also demands the exploration of these crossovers.”
A challenge that will consist of establishing and strengthening the School of Design in the academic world and developing and defining the teaching programmes. In fact, the new Director of Education has already planned to focus more closely on the culture of Made in Italy and new technologies, without forgetting the international dimension.

“His multi-faceted and research-oriented nature, his critical thinking and innovation make Mark Anderson an excellent educational leader for the School of Design”, commented Massimo Zanatta, School Director of Istituto Marangoni. But another contributing factor is without doubt Anderson’s background in the design world with his balanced experience in both the academic and professional spheres of design: a degree and Master’s in Architecture in the US, important collaborations with private companies and institutions of the calibre of Versace Home Collection and Samsung UX, academic courses and project management activities as a freelancer between Milan and Miami.
