Established in 2001, the OAK Design brand, the ‘coolest’ stylistic expression of OAK Industria Arredamenti, took inspiration from the most contemporary design trends and modern styles to stay up-to-date with the new furnishing scene and a younger consumer target. The brand’s new collection is also modelled around this inspiration: Milano, the most recent collection designed by Luca Scacchetti, is a complete contemporary luxury range for the living area and sleeping area.
Milano is named after the Italian capital of design, the city that gave birth to Scacchetti, an architect who was the artistic director of the brand since its inception in 2001, when it unveiled its first line, Percorsi. «The new collection is a tribute to the maestro, who collaborated with our company for over twenty years – explains OAK’s president, Renato Pologna – Milano is an evolution and development of the brand, an expression of the Made in Italy style that the city itself represents. Hence the choice of an international style, designed for a young, cosmopolitan audience, destined not only for large villas, but also for lofts and penthouses».
Soft, but more defined designs and materials in unusual combinations, such as nubuck leather, green ebony and bronze for the finishes. Exhibited for the first time at the Milan Salone del Mobile, the collection is now completed and is being presented with the new catalogue at the sister event in Shanghai, where the company also has a second stand dedicated to the historic OAK Classic brand, represented here by the Galleria collection.
«The Shanghai fair is an excellent showcase for launching the new collection: both the companies and the visitors have been carefully selected. This second edition is even more targeted at a specialist audience – Pologna continues – It is certainly a good springboard for China, which is a difficult market to approach, even though it represents 20% of our turnover». The company is already present here thanks to a distribution network that embraces the cities of Shanghai, Beijing and Shenzhen, but «it is a constantly evolving country, which is why we are also considering smaller cities. The evolution also relates to residential style: with OAK Design and the Milano collection, we intend to expand our horizons, while always relying on a solid foundation of experience and quality represented by OAK Classic».
