Another exclusive name has been added to the prestigious list of top names in design and high end furnishings based in the exclusive Brera neighbourhood: Janus et Cie. In the wake of its acquisition by Haworth Poltrona Frau Group in 2016, the opening of its first Milan-based flagship store confirms the brand’s desire for growth on the European market. The company has grown from strength to strength since its foundation in 1978, with a single showroom inside the Los Angeles Pacific Design Center opened by Janice Feldman, current CEO. Since it has opened 18 flagship showrooms in North America, Singapore and Sydney, along with offices dotted across the globe, all the while forging an international and continuously expanding brand which operates independently within Haworth’s Lifestyle division.
Janus et Cie has been active for almost 40 years in the “garden and casual furnishings” sector and has developed numerous furniture and fabric collections over the years, with over 6000 pieces developed for residential, retail and hotelier premises, with particular focus on seamlessly combining innovation and quality craftsmanship, palpable in its selection of materials, especially the patented JANUSfiber and JANUSwood.
In Fatebenefratelli 15, the brand and numerous collections, arranged in furnishing compositions or displayed on walls as single iconic pieces, often multiple prize winners, are heralded on the outside by a stylised, sculptural and golden leaved topiary tree reproducing the brand’s logo. Large floor-to-ceiling windows delimit the ground floor and create an extremely luminous and peaceful ambience. Limestone flooring and white walls exalt a sense of exploration and discovery, accompanying visitors to the main staircase which leads up to an additional three floors of exhibition areas and spacious mezzanine.
