This was the headline chosen in 2007 for the opening of the 46th Salone del Mobile by Il Foglio Del Mobile, a new editorial product officially launched on the occasion of the Milan Design Week and distributed at the entrance of the Fair.
Ten years have already passed since the birth of our magazine, aimed to welcome thousands of people who endlessly reached Milan ready to discover the wonders of furniture&design world.
It is with great satisfaction that we saw visitors walking down the Fair with a copy of our tabloid – that was the original format – under their arms, inside a bag or wide open to find out the latest and most interesting novelties. Those 32 pages marked the beginning of a new great adventure on the Italian publishing scene and beyond.
Landed in Milan, IFDM immediately defined its business strategy and mission too: it wasn’t intended to remain in Italy, where dozens of major national publications already worked with professionalism, covering the domestic market. Its place was abroad but always beside those companies – first and foremost Italian – which were implementing internationalization plans in emerging markets.
Since then IFDM has considerably evolved, achieving over sixty main partners in twenty-eight markets where copies are regularly distributed during the Design Weeks and events dedicated to this unique sector able to excite, surprise and still consider personal relationships the greatest human capital. And to this value I truly owe my personal success, as I have always seen good interactions as the core of the network we have slowly built up. The more we connected to each other, the more consolidated have become IFDM network.
Over the years we have reached new Countries and spoken new languages: English, French, Russian, Arab and working on Chinese too.
We made it all supported by companies, professionals, institutions, trade organizations and most of all readers who come back to Milan every year, knowing that at the end of the tunnel – a subway, in this case – a new edition is waiting for them. A freshly printed copy of IFDM, the same you are holding now in your hand.
Next June we will celebrate these wonderful years together, while leaving the stage during Salone to companies and events spread throughout the city. The IFDM 10th Anniversary Exhibition will tell our story displayed within the beautiful frame of Fondazione Stelline. I hope to welcome you at the Inauguration Day on June 15.
