Sophistication, minimalism and a very personal style: due to these qualities and many more, the jury was in no doubt when it named Vincent van Duysen designer of the year at the 25th edition of Interieur in Kortrijk. Born in Belgium in 1962, he studied architecture and worked in Milan from 1986 to 1987 alongside Aldo Cibic. During that period, he developed the expertise that he demonstrated as an architect in the following years with largely residential interior projects. Functionality, durability and comfort are all key to his work. Ranging from industrial products to garden furniture or intelligent lighting systems, the result is always a very refined product. He has collaborated with leading Italian and international brands, including Fantini, B&B Italia, Flos, Poliform, When Objects Work, Pastoe, Tribù and Obumex.
This achievement is not his only success in 2016: in April, the Belgian designer was appointed creative director of the Molteni&C | Dada brands. Having worked on the Gliss Master wardrobe collection and on the design of the stand in Koelnmesse, van Duysen is focusing on coordinating the brands’ image and retail concept.
Numerous projects have already been completed, from the new Molteni&C and Dada stands to the makeover of the Flagship Store in Tokyo and of the historic exhibition space in the Molteni Compound in Giussano.
