The registration of NeoCon 2016 edition was up 6% from last year, drawing 53.000 attendees. Design professionals from around the world took part in the Chicago three-day event, exclusively experiencing the restored public spaces of The Mart.
The trasformative 40 milions dollar renovation included a striking new Grand Stair – opening up to a large multi-purpose secon floor – a modernized urban food hall, an expanded riverfront park with alfresco seating. Also bustling with activity was the newly redesigned 7th Floor Exhibit Hall, that presented special events, parties and awards cerimonies.
The show dedicated to commercial design became an international hub which entertained the public with keynote sessions, funny workshops and multiple exhibitors. Among the prestigious brands, Herman Miller: «We have been at NeoCon since the beginning – said the CEO Brian Walker – The response we received was always significant. This year we had over 600 scheduled appointments, a jump of over 100 from last edition, and all three of our showroom were busy throughtout the run of the show». Also Snowsound and Knoll had a positive answer, as Michael Dardashit (Director of Business Development) and Andrew Cogan (President and CEO) respectively affirm.
The influence of the event doesn’t stop here: Philadelphia will welcome NeoCon East – its 14th edition – from November 2016, 9 to 10. Long list of the characters within the Pennsylvania Convention Centre: from Haworth to Herman Miller among the exhibitors, from Todd Bertsch & Betsy Nurse to Jake Barton among the speakers; there will be also awards, special presentations and exclusive parties (Philadelphia Block Party).
