“Rooms of the heart”: this is how to Dante defined the rooms in a dwelling. It is exactly on one of these rooms that one of the major exhibitions organized for the Milan Salone del Mobile is focused. Beppe Finessi, the curator of Rooms. Other philosophies for living, provided a short short historical background, telling of the works of the great masters of the past and the present, including but not limited to Gio Ponti, Ettore Sottsass, Gae Aulenti, Vico Magistretti and Cherubino Gambardella , through a “sky blue vault” of photographs and designs on the interiors of the 1900s. This is followed by 11 rooms designed by various designers – Andrea Anastasio, Manolo De Giorgi, Duilio Forte, Marta Laudani and Marco Romanelli, Lazzarini Pickering Architetti, Francesco Librizzi, Alessandro Mendini, Fabio Novembre, Carlo Ratti Associati, Umberto Riva, Elisabetta Terragni – each of which is illustrated with the words of literary or philosophical texts, selected on an ad hoc basis by Francesco M. Cataluccio. The room thus becomes a poem of yesteryear, the keeper of pleasure and intimacy.
