The programme, ‘Emerging New Media Artists’, run by the Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Culture, will be hosted by Diriyah Art Futures (DAF), a centre dedicated to New Media Art, and located in Diriyah, in the heart of a UNESCO World Heritage site.
The project, aimed at emerging creatives at a regional and global level, offers opportunities for access to cutting-edge professional equipment, a budget dedicated to production, and a wide range of multidisciplinary learning tools. Notably, this includes the possibility of receiving personal guidance from international digital artists.
This innovative programme is just one component of the activities conducted in collaboration between the Ministry and the Diriyah Company: Diriyah Art Futures, the region’s first centre dedicated exclusively to New Media Art, will soon be launched.
DAF’s aim is to pave the way for creativity across diverse artistic disciplines through education, empowerment, and the creation of a stimulating environment for artistic imagination. Located in Historical Diriyah, the centre establishes itself as a reference point for the vibrant artistic scene of Saudi Arabia, reaffirming the relevance of the site as a global cultural destination.
DAF’s Emerging New Media Artists programme, which lasts one year, was designed in collaboration with Le Fresnoy – Studio National des Arts Contemporains in France, with the goal of supporting training in creative production.
Applications for the programme are now open to young people under 35, who have completed or are completing their course of study (both undergraduate and postgraduate), and have gained experience in the creation and development of digital art and new media.
